While it was still a bit wet, I carved directly into the surface: curved lines and dots worked freehand across the glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDesign\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe whole piece is built around the idea of water. The curved lines echo ripples, and the dots scattered between them feel like droplets caught mid-motion. Carving into the glaze while it was still workable meant I could follow the flow as it came rather than sketching it out first, so the lines have a natural, slightly uneven rhythm to them. That's part of the point — it reads more like something water actually left behind than a pattern drawn on top.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eConclusion\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt 16cm across and 4cm deep, this dish is a good size for daily use: food safe for serving small bites, olives, or snacks, but just as suited to holding rings, earrings, or whatever tends to pile up on a counter or nightstand.
